DESCRIPTION:Join us for an informative session exploring the role of the Li
 ght Aircraft Association (LAA) in supporting the building and maintenance 
 of aircraft in the UK. This lecture is ideal for those new to the LAA who 
 wish to understand the range of aircraft that can be built or maintained u
 nder its guidance.\nFrom simple plans-built aircraft to modern\, Night/IFR
 -equipped Vans RVs\, you'll gain insights into the diverse possibilities a
 vailable. The speaker will provide an overview of the LAA's activities\, i
 ncluding support for homebuilt\, vintage\, and classic aircraft\, as well 
 as pilot coaching and engineering services.\nWhether you're an experienced
  pilot or just starting out\, this presentation will offer valuable inform
 ation about opportunities within the light aircraft community.\nSpeaker: L
 ucy Wootton MEng (Hons)\, DIS\, DipHE\, MRAeS\nLucy holds an MEng (Hons) i
 n Aeronautical Engineering from Loughborough University and has previously
  worked for Rolls-Royce and as an Aircraft Structural Repair Design Engine
 er. She has been a BGA Glider Inspector since 2014\, holding a Part 66 Eng
 ineering Licence for gliders and serving as an ARC Signatory. Lucy is a Fl
 ight Instructor for Sailplanes and Chief Flying Instructor of her local gl
 iding club\, competing in aerobatics and organising events for young glide
 r pilots as a member of the UK Junior Gliding Development Team. She is cur
 rently a BGA Board Member. Since 2016\, Lucy has been power flying\, holdi
 ng both a PPL(A) and an NPPL(A)\, and flies tugs at her gliding club and a
 ir displays at the Shuttleworth Collection.
