SUMMARY:Chipmunk 80th anniversary photo shoot
DESCRIPTION:A special photography-focused event celebrating the de Havillan
d Chipmunk's 80th anniversary\, held at the historic Old Warden Aerodrome.
This Heritage Wings shoot features four Chipmunks representing different
eras of the aircraft's service history\, including the notable Red 'Royal
Chipmunk' WP903\, which was flown by Prince Charles during his pilot train
ing at Cambridge University in 1969.\nThe afternoon session (13:00–17:00
) offers carefully composed photographic scenarios rather than static airc
raft displays. Participants will capture individual and group arrangements
showcasing the distinctive markings and presentations of each aircraft. P
eriod re-enactors from various eras of the Chipmunk's RAF training career
will feature in selected scenes\, alongside Air Training Corps cadets wher
e possible\, bringing to life the aircraft's significant role in British m
ilitary aviation training.\nOld Warden's grass aerodrome\, traditional han
gars and countryside setting provide an authentic backdrop ideal for captu
ring the Chipmunk's historical atmosphere. The timing capitalises on autum
n afternoon light\, with flexible positioning to respond to weather and li
ghting conditions throughout the session. Participants also have the oppor
tunity to explore the Shuttleworth Collection during opening hours (additi
onal cost)\, which houses a Chipmunk T.22 in Royal Canadian Air Force colo
urs and numerous other historic aircraft and vehicles.\nFor many former Ai
r Training Corps and Combined Cadet Force members\, this event offers an o
pportunity to revisit a cherished aircraft that sparked lifelong aviation
interests. For aviation photographers\, it presents unhindered 'ops' image
ry of this classic trainer at one of Britain's most picturesque heritage a
 irfields.

een Airport centred on the C-41A\, one of the rarest surviving members of
the Douglas DC-3 family. This wartime command aircraft was one of two spec
ial Douglas transports obtained for Major General Henry Harley "Hap" Arnol
d\, featuring executive seating and sleeping accommodation for senior mili
tary and government travel.\nThe event comprises three themed photographic
sessions. The first recreates the wartime command and VIP transport role\
, with period military re-enactors representing senior officers\, aircrew
and ground personnel. The second session depicts TWA transcontinental airl
ine service from 1941\, featuring period airline crew\, hostesses and pass
engers in a historically informed recreation. The final session moves into
the 1960s corporate aviation era\, presenting the aircraft as an executiv
e transport with appropriately dressed re-enactors.\nParticipants will enj
oy a mixture of clean aircraft images\, wider narrative scenes and detaile
d story-led compositions. The full itinerary runs from 10:00 to 19:30\, in

SUMMARY:RAF At Home Coltishall Jaguars photo shoot
DESCRIPTION:Join COAP Wings for a focused photographic opportunity at the f
ormer RAF Coltishall\, long recognised as the 'Home of the RAF Jaguar'. Th
is Heritage Wings shoot is built around the preserved ex-RAF Jaguar GR1\,
XZ384\, offering aviation photographers a rare chance to capture this sign
ificant aircraft in an authentic backdrop that reflects its operational se
rvice history.\nThe event is designed with the aviation photographer in mi
nd. Time on site will be carefully structured to allow considered composit
ions and scenes that extend beyond a standard visit. Period-accurate re-en
actors and equipment will be incorporated to provide the distinctive 'time
-travel' element characteristic of COAP Heritage Wings events.\nXZ384 repr
esents a significant aspect of the station's operational history. First fl
own on 18 March 1977\, the aircraft was delivered to RAF Brüggen and 20 S
quadron before serving briefly with 31 Squadron and finally 17 Squadron. T
he airframe completed her last flight on 28 February 1985 and subsequently
served as ground instructional equipment at RAF Cosford. In early 2024\,
following a successful crowdfunding effort\, RAF Coltishall Heritage Centr
e acquired XZ384 and transported the aircraft home for preservation and di
 splay\, arriving on 19 July 2024.\nThis one-day/evening event offers a rar
e opportunity to photograph a Jaguar in a location that retains the unique
character of its RAF operational past. The setting provides an authentic
military backdrop ideal for heritage aviation photography.

SUMMARY:Buccaneer Ops photo shoot
DESCRIPTION:Join COAP Wings and The Buccaneer Aviation Group for a speciall
y arranged afternoon and evening 'Ops' shoot featuring brilliantly restore
d Blackburn Buccaneers at Cotswold Airport on Saturday 7 November 2026. Ru
nning from 13:00 until 19:30\, the event will progress from autumn dayligh
t through sunset and the blue hour before concluding with fully illuminate
d night scenes.\nFew British military aircraft possess the presence of the
Blackburn Buccaneer. Designed during the Cold War to fly fast and excepti
onally low\, it became one of the most capable strike aircraft operated by
the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. Its broad fuselage\, folding wings\,
rotating bomb bay and purposeful stance make it instantly recognisable—a
n outstanding subject for aviation photography.\nThe programme will includ
e an engine run (subject to operational/serviceability/weather caveats)\,
carefully staged operational scenarios and a varied selection of clean air
craft compositions. Re-enactors wearing historically appropriate uniforms
and equipment will portray Buccaneer pilots\, observers and ground personn
el\, helping recreate scenes inspired by the aircraft's military career.\n
The Buccaneer Aviation Group operates two principal aircraft: Buccaneer S.
 2B XX894 and XW544\, both preserved at Cotswold Airport since 2020. XX894
notably destroyed an Antonov An-12 transport during the 1991 Gulf War—th
e only Buccaneer credited with destroying another aircraft during the conf
lict. XW544 served with 15 and 16 Squadrons before retirement in 1983.\nAs
daylight fades\, COAP lighting will emphasise the Buccaneer's shape\, coc
kpit and operational character. Once darkness falls\, the aircraft will be
come the centre of fully lit night scenes\, with re-enactors and illuminat
ion recreating an active dispersal or flight line. Dedicated opportunities
allow clean aircraft portraits and detailed studies of the Buccaneer's un
 usual design.

SUMMARY:GR3 Harrier action & cameos photo shoot
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exclusive photography event featuring the only p
rivately owned\, fully operational GR3 Harrier in the UK. Delivered by Tim
e Line Events (TLE)\, this winter shoot takes place in Shropshire in late
January 2027\, offering unprecedented access to this remarkable piece of a
 viation history.\nThe Millington Engineering-owned GR3 Harrier\, XV808\, w
ill be showcased both inside and outside its dedicated hangar\, providing
countless photographic opportunities. This aircraft has a distinguished he
ritage: delivered in 1971 at Dunsfold\, it served with RAF squadrons in Ge
rmany and became an official RAF Harrier solo display airframe at major pu
blic air shows. After its final flight in 1990\, it underwent ground train
ing roles before being acquired by Roy and Julian Millington in 2012. Foll
owing a meticulous two-year restoration by engineers and ex-RAF personnel\
, its Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine was successfully fired up in 2014.\nThe e
vent will feature authentic RAF personnel re-enactors recreating everyday
scenes from former RAF bases where Harriers were stationed across the UK a
nd Europe. These professional re-enactments will provide dynamic compositi
on opportunities alongside the aircraft itself. Ample time will be dedicat
ed to capturing the Harrier alone\, catering to all photographic preferenc
es.\nThe session runs from approximately 13:00 to 19:00\, allowing full ad
vantage of changing afternoon light and evening twilight. As dusk approach
es\, special effects and lighting will be deployed inside the hangar\, pro
viding dramatic evening photography opportunities.\nSpaces are strictly li
mited. Proceeds from this event support the ongoing maintenance costs of t
his unique\, privately operated aircraft. Tickets are priced at £99 per p
 erson.
