Who we are

Events.Aero is a trading name of Volanti.Aero Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10913654), registered address Office 4185, 58 Peregrine Road, Essex, IG6 3SZ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration ZB313867 and are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

What we collect and why

We collect the minimum we need to run an aviation events directory:

  • Account data. When you sign in we receive your name and email address from Volanti ID, our sign-in service. We use these to operate your account, show you your RSVPs and, if you are an event organiser, manage your listings. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • RSVP data. When you RSVP to an event we collect your name, email address and guest count so we can confirm your place and let the organiser plan numbers. We also record the IP address the RSVP came from, solely to prevent abuse of the free RSVP system. Lawful bases: performance of a contract, and legitimate interests (abuse prevention).
  • Listing data. When you list or claim an event we collect the contact and organisation details you provide, which are published as part of the listing where you choose to include them. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • Usage data. We measure how the site is used with privacy-preserving analytics. Our own measurement stores no personal data: session identifiers are one-way hashed and no IP addresses are kept. Google Analytics runs in cookieless consent mode, which stores nothing on your device (see our cookie policy). Lawful basis: legitimate interests (understanding and improving the service).

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the services that run the site: our hosting and content delivery providers, our email delivery provider (to send RSVP confirmations and listing notifications), Cloudflare (security and bot protection), and our analytics providers as described above. When you RSVP to an event, the organiser of that event can see your name, email address and guest count so they can run their event.

How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account is active. RSVP records are kept while the related event listing remains on the site, so your attendance history works. IP addresses recorded with RSVPs are kept for no longer than 12 months. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict our processing of it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
