Lecture: The Big Wing (Gp Capt Tim Willbond)

Group Captain Tim Willbond, OBE, DL, RAF (Retired) presents 'The Big Wing' at Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre. This is the final lecture of the 2026 season, taking place on Wednesday 28th October. The lecture series has proven popular throughout the season, and attendees are encouraged to secure tickets early if not already a member. Tickets are available to purchase online through the visitor centre's website. The Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre hosts lectures and educational events throughout the year, focusing on RAF history, particularly the legacy of 106 Squadron and the Avro Lancaster bombers that were stationed at RAF Metheringham from November 1943 until the end of World War II. The centre is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and admission charges apply to the facility (Adults & Children 16 or older: £8; Children 13-15: £3). The centre is operated by a dedicated team of volunteers and houses collections related to RAF Bomber Command and the historic airfield.
