RAeS Aerospace Medicine Group Annual Symposium 2026

The RAeS Aerospace Medicine Group Annual Symposium 2026 is a prestigious one-day conference bringing together the entire aerospace medicine community. Held on 23 November 2026 at the Royal Aeronautical Society Headquarters in London, this annual event provides essential professional development and networking opportunities for medical professionals in the aerospace field.

Following the success of the sold-out 2025 edition, the 2026 symposium will cover the full spectrum of civilian and military aerospace medicine, including space medicine, current regulatory challenges, and clinical case studies. The programme will feature topics on remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) medical standards, perspectives from operators and human factors considerations, case studies from the Civil Aviation Authority, military perspectives, and aeromedical retrieval including specialist case studies.

This event serves as a vital educational platform for doctors in training and provides essential continuing professional development for aeromedical examiners and other specialists. The keynote speaker is Dr. James "J.D." Polk, NASA Chief Health and Medical Officer.

Attendees will benefit from high-quality presentations, networking with colleagues across the aerospace medicine field, and exposure to the latest developments in both clinical and operational aerospace medicine. The symposium is exclusively in-person and will not be live-streamed.

The 2026 AVM Simpson Next Generation Aerospace Medicine Prize competition is also open, offering free attendance and a £200 grant to the best presentation by undergraduate, early career, or postgraduate students.

The event is followed by the Stewart Memorial Lecture featuring Dr Peter Hodkinson FRAeS speaking on 'From Aviation Medicine to Human Spaceflight'.
