The Weybridge Branch presents an AGM followed by a fascinating lecture on the remarkable story of nine RAF pilots from a single family spanning 106 years. Speaker Anthony Inglis Howard-Williams, an accomplished Grammy-nominated conductor and long-standing RAF Association supporter, will recount how all nine family members survived their service, despite the odds. Amongst them are an Air Marshal who conceived the Dunkirk little ships and served as Chief of Air Staff for the RNZAF; a Flight Lieutenant currently flying Chinooks with 18 Squadron from Odiham; an Air Commodore who served as number two to Dowding at Bentley Priory and later founded Airmail; a Battle of Britain pilot who flew with Douglas Bader in 19 Squadron at Duxford; an Air Vice Marshal who influenced Roosevelt on the "Germany First" policy; a Flight Lieutenant who joined the RAF at age 66; a Group Captain credited with the joint highest number of pathfinder operations in World War II; and a Squadron Leader who flew a ME410 in 1944. The Branch AGM commences at 16:30, followed by the lecture from 18:45 to 20:15 BST. The Brooklands Club Members bar opens from 17:30 with pre-order food service at 17:45 (card payment required). Certificates of Attendance for C.Eng or CPD purposes are available upon request.
